Championship Night at Thunderhill

Special; Sturgeon Bay, WI -  This Saturday Night August 26th, T Simon Jewelers will be bringing Championship racing action to the Forest County Potawatomi Thunderhill Raceway. Champions will be crowned in all 6 classes including the Tri-County Heating IMCA Modifieds, Budweiser IMCA Stockcars, Olson Fabrication IMCA Hobby Stocks, D.C. Custom Drilling and Blasting Street Stocks, Bombers, and 4 cylinders. Races start at 6 p.m.

All Jared Siefert has to do is start the 20 lap Tri-County Heating IMCA Modified Feature to capture his second Thunderhill crown. Siefert has a 28 point advantage to start the night. Siefert was the 2002 champ.

Eugene Gregorich holds a 9 point lead on Matt Junio for the Budweiser IMCA Stockcar crown. Gregorich, in his second year in the IMCA Stockcars, is already a 4-time Modified champ.

In the closest points race at the track, Keith Kickbusch is leading Eddie Anschutz by JUST 2 points in the Olson Fabrication IMCA Hobby Stocks. Anschutz is the two-time defending track champion. Kickbusch was a two-time champion at Luxemburg.

Von Eytcheson has to just start the D.C. Custom Drilling and Blasting Street Stock Feature event to claim his second consecutive title. He has the lead by 22 points.

Dan Merkle looks to be crowned the Bomber champ after the green flag drops. Merkle was last years champion.

Tony Everard has a 9 point lead over Jeremy Dubois heading into the final night in the 4 cylinder division. This is Everard’s first full season at Thunderhill.

Next Week is the pre-Boone special. The Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association will be back for the last time this season. IMCA RULES NO POINTS, NO CLAIM. 6 p.m. start time.
