In the 4-Cylinder heat, track point leaders, brothers #18 Nick Everard and #e8 Tony Everard, both of Green Bay, flipped their cars on consecutive laps on the backstretch of the clay oval.  Nick flipped wildly for 5-1/2 revolutions, ending on his roof while brother Tony flipped three times.

One observer mentioned that both cars nicked the inside track barrier tire coming out of turn two, turning them sideways and flipping.  Neither driver was injured, but
you can see from Nick’s rollover, the importance of a window net as his arm
comes out of the rolling car.  “We’ll both be back next week with our cars.” Tony and Nick Everard.

Rick Mahlberg grabbed the lead on lap two and maintained the lead through a series of cautions to win his first IMCA Stockcar feature of the year. Eddie Anschutz won his second feature win of the season in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Von Eytcheson grabbed the lead on lap four and went on to win his first feature of the season in the Street Stocks. Tom Zastrow won his first feature of the season in the 4 cylinders. Joe Krauel won his third straight Bomber feature.

Scott Reinhardt led the first three laps in the Street Stock feature before Von Eytcheson grabbed the lead on the inside lane. Eytcheson led until the caution flag flew with three laps to go. Eytcheson jumped back into the lead with Jeremy Wiitala to the outside of him. As they crossed the start and finish line and headed into turn one on the last lap the caution flew for a Tim Jandrin spin. Once the white flag is displayed the next flag can only be the checker. The race goes back to the last completed lap. Eytcheson got the win followed by Wiitala, Reinhardt, Geno Sternard, and Aaron Thornton.

Ryan Lemieux led the first lap of the IMCA Stockcar feature before getting loose in turn three handing the lead over to Rick Mahlberg. Mahlberg continued to lead despite heavy pressure from Todd Polster. Mahlberg continued to lead until a Ben Kroll spin with six laps to go. In an unusual circumstance for the Stockcars there where five more cautions before the checkered flag flew. Mahlberg was able to keep the lead with the green, white, checker finish. Mahlberg went to win his first feature of the season followed by Charlie Kroll, Matt Junio, Polster, and Pat Davister.

Eric Van Iten led the opening five laps before Scott Boyea made a move to the inside for the race lead. The duo stayed side by side until the checkers. Boyea ran the bottom line while Van Iten stayed in the middle to high groove on the track. Art Siefert and Benji Lacrosse were left to battle for third. Coming to the white flag, Boyea was finally able to get enough momentum to keep the lead for good. It was Boyea’s first career feature win at Thunderhill. Van Iten finished runner-up followed by Siefert, Lacrosse, and Shawn Kilgore.

Tom Zastrow and Kenny Malcore had a great battle for the four-cylinder feature win. The traded the lead many times with Zastrow nipping Malcore at the line for the win. Zastrow earned his first win of the season. In heat race action, the top two in points, Brothers Tony and Nick Everard both flipped their cars in consecutive laps. They were both ok. “We’ll both be back next week with our cars.” Tony and Nick Everard.

Joe Krauel won the Bomber Feature.
