Anvelink Pockets $2,000 at Thunderhill

-Nick Anvelink has pocketed over $10,000 from
Thunderhill in the last 5 years in race winnings. Anvelink
picked up $2,000 Saturday Night in the win. He passed Justin
Hirt on lap 9 and led the final 31 laps to pick up his fourth
feature in five races at Thunderhill.

Nick Anvelink, Navarino, has pocketed over $10,000 from
Thunderhill with his fourth win in the last 5 year. Anvelink
picked up another $2,000 Saturday night with a 40-lap
feature event win.

Nick Anvelink, Navarino, picked up another $2,000 Saturday
night with a 40-lap feature event win after passing
Tigerton’s #27 Justin Hirt on lap nine. Anvelink led the
final 31 laps to pick up his fourth feature in five races at
Thunderhill Raceway, Sturgeon Bay, WI.

Potawatomi-sponsored drivers #10 Pete Parker, Kaukauna, and
#4 Gordie Seegert, Oostburg, ran wheel-to-wheel in the
feature until a flat tire sidelined Seegert. Parker finished
second to the young Anvelink.
Tri-County
Heating IMCA Modified rookie #90k Shawn Kilgore picked up
his fourth mod feature win of the season on Saturday night.

Tri-County
Heating IMCA Modified rookie #90k Shawn Kilgore picked up
his fourth Modified feature win of the season after making a
move on race leaders #73 Dan Ratajczak and M.J. Hintz.
Kilgore also won the Thunderhill Rookie of the Year title.

#4 Eugene Gregorich picked up his fourth Budweiser Stock Car
feature of the 2006 season.

2006 Track Champion #4 Eugene Gregorich started on the
inside of row two and quickly jumped to the lead in the
Stock Car feature. Gregorich passed #27 Willie DeGrave and
was able to stay in front of #11 Bernie Reinhardt.

Von Eytcheson started on the outside pole and jumped out to
a big lead early on in the Street Stock feature. Seymour
Champion #17 Harley Simon was one of a several drivers to
keep Eytcheson in sight briefly as Eytcheson cruised to
another feature win, his seventh at the Hill.s

#71 Eddie Anschutz led every lap in the Olson Fabrication
Hobby Stock feature to pick up his 6th feature win of the
season.
After
Anschutz was able to get the lead, #31 Jarred Van Lannen,
Green Bay, and #49 Roger LaViolette, Sturgeon Bay, battled
for second place.

2006 Track Champion #11 Dan Merkle won the feature after a
second place heat finish in the Bombers.

#22 Kip Burlo, Sturgeon Bay, won his A-main Saturday night,
his third of the 2006 season. Burlo also finished third in
the final point standings at the Hill. |
Rookie Shawn Kilgore picked up his fourth Modified feature
win of the season. Kilgore also won the rookie of the year
title.
Eugene Gregorich led all 15 laps to win the Stockcar
feature. Gregorich won the IMCA Stockcar title this year.
Runner-up in the points, Eddie Anschutz, picked up the
feature win in the Hobby Stocks. The win was his 6th of the
season.
Von Eytcheson led every lap in winning the Street Stock
feature. Eytcheson is now a two-time champion.
Eugene Gregorich started on the inside of row 2 and quickly
jumped to the lead in the Stockcar feature. Gregorich passed
Willie DeGrave in turns 3 and 4 on lap 1. Gregorich would
continue to pull away from the field. Tony Bouche made a
three-wide pass on DeGrave and Bernie Reinhardt on lap 5. A
tire in the middle of the track caused the caution to fly on
lap 6. Gregorich got another good restart and pulled away
from the field. Don Aregoni Jr. spun around with five laps
to go to setup a dash for cash. Gregorich would again pull
away and pick up his fourth feature of the season. Tony
Bouche was second followed by Reinhardt, DeGrave and Todd
Vlies.
Von Eytcheson started on the outside of row 1 and jumped out
to a big lead early on in the Street Stock feature. Aaron
Thornton made his was to second with Harley Simon in third.
The only caution happened on lap 6 when Andrew Schnable made
hard contact going into the turn 1 wall. He was alright.
After the restart, Thornton was right on the back bumper of
Eytcheson. Heading into turn three, Thornton’s motor blew
up. Eytcheson cruised to victory with Simon, Rod Solem, Tim
Czarneski, and Scott Reinhardt rounding out the top 5.
Czarneski started 14th on the field and worked his was to
fourth. Czarneski was driving Dave DeGrave’s IMCA Hobby
Stock.
Dan Rataczjak led the opening laps of the Modified feature
before M.J. Hintz grabbed the lead down low. Hintz took over
the lead on lap three but was quickly run down by Shawn
Kilgore. Kilgore made his move down low, and on lap 8 became
the new leader. Kilgore would continue to lead all the way
to the checkers. Hintz ran down Kilgore but could never get
to within 3 car lengths. Kilgore won his 4th feature of the
season followed by Hintz, James Tebon, Mike Wedelstadt, and
Rataczjak.
Justin Hirt battled the lead away from Gordie Seegert Jr, on
the opening laps of the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model feature.
Hirt would continue to lead until Nick Anvelink found good
bite down low and caught Hirt. He made the pass on lap 9 and
pulled away from the rest of the field. A loan caution on
lap 25 kept the field close. Anvelink again pulled away only
to have Pete Parker hot on his tail. Parker was able to stay
within five car lengths but never any closer. Anvelink went
on to pick up his 4th win in the last 5 WDLMA races at
Thunderhill. Parker was second followed by Russ Scheffler,
Al Atkinson, and Justin Hirt.
Eddie Anschutz led every lap in the Hobby Stock feature to
pick up his 6th feature win of the season.
Dan Merkle swept action in the Bombers.
Kip Burlo held off a hard-charging Tony Everard to win the 4
cylinder feature.
Sept 22 and Sept 23rd are the days for the Forest County
Potawatomi Thunderhill Raceway special. Our regular 6
divisions will be running along with the Grand Nationals.
