The last lap
of the Tri-County Heating IMCA Modified feature was a great
one between #66 Jared Siefert and #8d Brian Drexler. Siefert
passed Brian Drexler with two laps to go to win. The win was
enough to give Siefert a “repeat” track championship.
Siefert also won the track title in 2002.
Jared Siefert
took home the Thunderhill Raceway Tri-County Heating IMCA
Modified Track Championship on Saturday. It was his second
title in the past five years as he also won the title in
2002. T. Simon Jewelers, provided the official Thunderhill
Track Championship watches on Saturday night.

Eugene Gregorich had to go through the consi, but was able
to hang on to his lead and pick up his first career
Budweiser IMCA Stock Car Track Championship. Gregorich is a
4-time IMCA Mod Champion. T. Simon Jewelers, provided the
official Thunderhill Track Championship watches on Saturday
night.
Troy Muench
picked up his first win of the 2006 season at “The Hill.” He
made it a double-header weekend by also winning at Luxemburg
on Friday night.

#11 Von
Eytcheson won both the feature and the Thunderhill Street
Stock Track Championship in the D.C. Custom Drilling &
Blasting Street Stocks. Eytcheson won a total of six feature
events at Thunderhill in 2006. T. Simon Jewelers, provided
the official Thunderhill Track Championship watches on
Saturday night.

#29 Scott Iverson jumped out to the lead early on in the
D.C. Custom Drilling and Blasting Street Stock Feature. A
Jeremy Wiitala spin on lap four brought out the only caution
of the race allowing Eytcheson to use the restart to jump to
the inside of Iverson for the race lead and eventual win.

#47 Keith Kickbusch won his first Olson Fabrication IMCA
Hobby Stock Track Championship at Thunderhill. Kickbusch is
a two-time Hobby Stock champ at Luxemburg. T. Simon
Jewelers, provided the official Thunderhill Track Champ-
ionship watches on Saturday night.

Olson
Fabrication IMCA Hobby Stock #71 Eddie Anschutz, Algoma,
passed #64 Clint Forstner, Shawano, on his way to his fifth
feature win at Thunderhill.

#11 Dan Merkle finished mid-pack in Saturday night’s feature
and won the 2006 Bomber Track Championship. T. Simon
Jewelers, provided the official Thunderhill Track

$500 for the Kid’s Coin Scramble put out by Bay Lake Bank on
the frontstretch of the clay oval proved to be a great
promotion for the Potawatomi Thunderhill Raceway on Saturday
night. Even moms and dads came out at intermission to help
the kids carry home “all the loot”.

Troy Muench picked up his first win of the season at “The
Hill.” He made it a double-header weekend by also winning at
Luxemburg on Friday night. Eugene Gregorich had to go
through the Consy, but was able to hang on to his lead and
pick up his first career Budweiser IMCA Stockcar Track
Championship. Gregorich is a 4 time IMCA Modified Champion.
Eddie Anschutz won the battle but Keith Kickbusch won the
war. Anschutz picked up the feature win with Kickbusch
finishing second. Kickbusch won his first Olson Fabrication
IMCA Hobby Stock championship at Thunderhill. Kickbusch is a
two-time Hobby Stock champ at Luxemburg.
Von Eytcheson won both the feature and the championship in
the D.C. Custom Drilling and Blasting Street Stock.
Eytcheson is now a two-time defending champion.
Scott Iverson jumped out to the lead early on in the D.C.
Custom Drilling and Blasting Street Stock Feature. A Jeremy
Wiitala spin on lap 4 brought out the only caution of the
race. Von Eytcheson used the caution to jump to the inside
of Iverson for the race lead. Eytcheson would pull away
until about two laps to go. Iverson was able to make up big
ground on the last two laps but couldn’t make the pass for
the win. Eytcheson picked up the win and the championship
followed by Iverson, James Iverson, Thom Terrien and Scott
Reinhardt.
Dwayne Mertens seemed to be on his way to a great finish in
the Olson Fabrication IMCA Hobby Stock Feature until a blown
motor sidelined the leader on lap 4. Clint Forstner
inherited the lead for one lap but Eddie Anschutz flew by on
the outside. Anschutz pulled away from Forstner and Keith
Kickbusch. Kickbusch worked on Forstner until there was two
laps to go. Kickbusch shot to the inside and made the pass
for second. Anschutz would go on to pick up the win followed
by Kickbusch, Forstner, Tom Brumlic and Jeff Lautenbach. The
race went green to checker. With his second place finish,
Kickbusch finished just one point ahead of Anschutz for the
championship.
Brian Drexler put on a dominating performance early on in
the Tri-County Heating IMCA Modified feature. Benji LaCrosse
made his way to second through a series of cautions. Jared
Siefert would follow to third. A caution with 5 laps to go
grouped up the field. With two laps to go Siefert Threw the
car into turn one and pulled off the miraculous pass on both
Drexler and LaCrosse. Siefert would pull away and take the
win. The win was capped off with Siefert’s second IMCA
Modified title at Thunderhill. Drexler was second, followed
by LaCrosse, Dave Zeitler, and Randy Lemieux, Jr.
Before the start of the Budweiser IMCA Stockcar Feature, The
20 starters all carried either an American Flag, POW/MIA or
Veterans flag to honor all of our soldiers passed and
present. The special moment was sponsored by “Hot Rod
Snellenberger’s Front Row Gang.” Kraig Gretz led the opening
four laps of the feature until Troy Muench made the pass on
the outside. Matt Junio would make the pass on Gretz and
stay about 2 car lengths back of Muench. Point leader Eugene
Gregorich, was able to stay out of trouble and remain in
fifth throughout the race. Muench picked up the win followed
by Junio, Willy DeGrave, B.J. Soquet, and 2006 IMCA Stockcar
Champion Eugene Gregorich.
Ryan Eichert picked up the Bomber feature win. Dan Merkle
finished mid-pack and won the championship.
Tim Jorgenson won his first 4 cylinder feature event of the
season. Tony Everard picked up his first career Thunderhill
4 Cylinder Title.
