July 26, 2003; Sturgeon Bay, WI. -
Heavy rains late Friday night and into Saturday morning forced the cancellation of
the Door County Horizons night of racing at Thunder Hill Raceway Saturday night.
Racing is slated to resume Saturday night, August 2 at 6 p.m. on Bill Boettcher Automotive
night. A full program of IMCA modified, IMCA stock car, street stock, IMCA hobby stock and
4 cylinder racing is on tap.
Also, the first appearance of dirt late models in more than twenty years will take place
during a Wednesday night, August 6 special at the track. The Forest County Potawatomi Dirt
Late Model shootout will feature a 30 lap feature paying $2,000 to the winner. In
addition, IMCA modifieds and street stocks will also compete in a non-sanctioned,
non-track points race night.
All three divisions will compete for bonus lap leader money. Racing for this special
begins at 7 p.m. There will be no racing at the track on Saturday, August 9 because of the
Door County Fair. The raceway is located at John Miles Park in Sturgeon Bay. The track's
website is www.racethunderhill.com. For more information call 920 743 7052. |
