(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 26, 2014 Race Results- Earlier in the day former IMCA Modified racer Brad Anderegg was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma. A somber mood in the racing world turned into a fairy tail finish. Anderegg’s best friends, Tony and Dave Bouche battled for the win late in the going of the IMCA Stock Car feature at Thunderhill Raceway.

Dave chose the #21 when Anderegg moved into the Modifieds. Tony grew up with Brad, racing him in everything from a Street Stock to the old Wing Modifieds. Bouche’s shop is right next to Anderegg’s, to say they were close would be an understatement. Feature winners were Todd Dart (IMCA Modified), Chris Budzban (IMCA Sport Mod), Jeremy Jauquet (IMCA Hobby Stock) Danny Gracyalny (Street Stock), Cole Possi (600 Sprints)and John Mathias (500 Sprints).

The opening laps of the IMCA Stock Car feature were rough for Dylan Heilmann and co-point leader Shawn Havel as they ended up wrecked after an opening lap collision that sent Havel to pit lane. Heilmann clipped the turn 4 light pole and received heavy damage. Jamie Suchocki grabbed the lap one lead but was quickly over taken by Tony Bouche who took his Ford powered machine to the top side. Tony then set sail pulling out to a sizable advantage. Co-point leader Dave Bouche and Billy LeMieux gave chase with Dave working to third. Dave slipped by Suchocki with 10 laps remaining for the runner up spot.

Dave then began reeling in his Uncle, using the low side of the track. With 5 laps remaining Dave pulled even with Tony. A lap later it was Dave grabbing the top spot to which he never let go of, taking home an emotional victory. Tony took a proud second, Suchocki had another solid week with third, LeMieux held on for fourth and the ever consistent Heilmann was able to salvage a fifth place. Dave did a polish victory lap while carrying the black flag in remembrance of Anderegg.

A series of caution slowed the pace of the IMCA Sport Mod main as Cody Rass and Ryan LeMieux traded the lead lap after lap for the first half of the feature. LeMieux was able to get a good restart on lap 12 to keep Rass at bay. Point leader Chris Budzban kept cool picking his way through the field, blasting past Rass for the runner up spot. With LeMieux committed to the cushion, Budzban worked the tires. The stage was set for the title contenders to duke it out for the win. The duo raced door to door with Budzban gaining the advantage with 2 laps left. Budzban held on the for the win, his second of the season. Rass was third, Randy LeMieux Jr. raced to fourth after starting last on the field. Defending champion Bernie Reinhardt completed the top five.

Jeremy DuBois led the opening laps of the Street Stock main until a spin sent him to the tail, handing the lead over to Kevin Luedtke. Like a replay of last week Danny Gracyalny raced to second with point leader Geno Sternard third. This week Gracyalny was patient, staying on the back bumper of the leader, waiting for a mistake. With 2 laps remaining Gracyalny slipped to the inside of Luedtke, Sternard followed by as well. Gracyalny and Sternard were side by side heading to the checker. A physical battle ensued, for the second week in a row Gracyalny was victories by a mere fender to the amazement of the crowd. Sternard had to settle for second at the pay window, Luedtke took a solid third, Freddie Davister and Tony Everard rounded out the top five.

Todd Dart was once again victories over star studded field of IMCA Modifieds. Dart took the lead away from Tyler Hackett on lap 4 and never looked back, cruising to his 7th feature win of the season. James Tebon had a strong second, Hackett was third, Benji LaCrosse and Jared Siefert completed the top five.

In IMCA Hobby Stock action it was Jeremy Jauquet out lasting Derek Moede to earn his 4th feature win of the season. Marcus Moede was third, Travis Lumaye fourth and Dave Schmidt rallied late to place fifth after a trip down pit lane.

John Mathias had a little luck on his side when leader Gabe Zellner suffered mechanical issues with just two laps remaining. Mathias pounced on the opportunity to claim victory in the 500cc Micro Sprints.

Cole Possi led every lap en route to a feature win in the 600cc Micro Sprints.

Racing will take place Wednesday, July 30th for the Door County Fair. It will be a full points night for our 5 regular divisions, plus Powder-Puff and a Mechanics race. Racing starts at 6:30PM
