(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 20, 2013 Results- Dave “The Bulldozer” Bouche brought home his first feature win of the season with a late race pass on Charlie Kroll at Thunderhill Raceway. Other feature winners were Greg Gretz (IMCA Modified), Jacob Zellner (IMCA Sport Mod), Scott Boulanger (IMCA Hobby Stock) and John Sternard (Street Stock).

Action was halted in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature when Travis LeMaye broke an axle sending his car rolling. He emerged ok but his car suffered extensive damage.

Next Saturday July 27 will feature the ever popular Trailer Race of Destruction brought to you by Quietwoods RV Sales & Service. Quietwoods is slated to bring four campers to get wrecked in the race. To pre-register please contact Woody by Phone: (920) 743-7052 or email: woodysigns@itol.com

Scott Reinhardt worked to high side around Dennis Weidner to earn the lead early on in the IMCA Stock Car feature. Former champ Charlie Kroll returned after a couple weeks off and his presence was felt early on as he battled Jeremy Anschutz for the runner up position. Point leader Dave Bouche joined in working to the inside of title contender John Anschutz for fourth. Just past the midway point of the race Kroll broke away from the pack charging under Reinhardt taking the lead. Bouche was able to follow Kroll down low to the runner up position. Bouche latched onto Kroll’s rear bumper, with just 3 laps remaining Bouche ducked under Kroll out of turn four blasting to the lead. Bouche pulled away in the final laps en route to his first feature win of the season. Kroll scored a season best second, John Anschutz stayed a close with third, Reinhardt had another consistent night with fourth and Jeremy Anschutz completed and racy top five.

14 year old Rookie Jacob Zellner pulled an upset scoring his first feature win in the IMCA Sport Mods.

The former National Karting champion raced from row 2 and to the lead around Jeff Lautenbach. Zellner then set sail leaving the battle for second behind him. Kelsy Hayes was the first to get through to second. Title contender Randy LeMieux Jr. and point leader Bernie Reinhardt began working through field and into the top five. Zellner had a straight away lead with only 5 laps remaining when the caution flew. This put Hayes and LeMieux Jr. on his back spoiler. The green dropped and Zellner again dusted the field pulling away in dominating fashion to earn his first ever feature win. LeMieux Jr. was second, Reinhardt came home third, Jarred VanLaanen rallied late for fourth and Jesse Kroll rounded out the top five.

For the second week in a row Rookie Greg Gretz led every lap en route to victory in the IMCA Modifieds.

Point leader James Tebon gave chase getting to Gretz’s back bumper late in the going but didn’t have enough to make the pass. For Gretz it was a clean sweep after winning his heat race earlier in the night. Tebon settled for second once again, Dan Ratajczak was third, Billy LeMieux brought home fourth and Eugene Gregorich Sr. was fifth. The contest went green to checker. Tebon leads Ratajczak by a mere 2 points.

Scott Boulanger earned his 4th feature win of the season in the IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Dave Schmidt slid past Travis LeMaye for the lead on the opening lap. Schmidts lead was erased as Scott Boulanger raced by down low for the top spot on lap 4. Schmidt stayed within striking distance the entire race but it was all Boulanger when the checkers fell. Schmidt was a strong second, last weeks winner Sawyer Haese was third, point leader Derek Moede was fourth and Joe Hegnet rounded out the top five.

Johnny “The Jet” Sternard scored a clean sweep in the Street Stocks.

Sternard slipped from row 2 to the lead on the opening lap. Sternard paced the field until a series of cautions set up a 6 lap dash to the checker. Sternard was stalked by point leader Keith Kickbusch the rest of the way but Sternard who is a former Street Stock champion was up for the challenge earning his first feature win of the year. Kickbusch padded his point lead with second, Brandon Peterson was third, Kevin Luedtke came home fourth and Todd Wagner placed fifth.
