(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 14- 6-time IMCA Modified Champion “Felix” Todd Dart captured his first feature of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. Other feature winners were Devin Snellenberger (IMCA Stock Car), Bernie Reinhardt (IMCA Sport Mod), Tom Brumlic (IMCA Hobby Stock) and Todd Polster (Street Stock)

Several of North Eastern Wisconsin’s best drivers took part in the IMCA Dakota Series Tour this week. 6 races in 6 nights and when the dust settled it was Algoma’s Shawn Havel taking home the Series Championship. Havel had the pressure on his back as he came into the final night of the series 2nd in points. Havel won the events finale, earning him the crown in the IMCA Stock Cars. Bonduel’s Greg Whichman took 4th in the standings, Kyle Fredrick of Oconto Falls was 15th and Jon Courchaine 22nd also of Oconto Falls. A total of 47 Stock Cars took the green flag in the Dakota Series.

In the IMCA Modified portion of the Dakota Series Algoma’s Todd Dart won the feature the opener. 2011 Series Champion Brian Mullen of Seymour placed 12th in points with Dart placing 13th. A total of 98Modifieds took the green flag in the Dakota Series.

3rd Generation driver Devin Snellenberger got out the broom scoring a clean sweep in the IMCA Stock Cars.

Bret “Bad Luck” Koehler led the opening circuits of the IMCA Stock Car feature before Devin Snellenberger charged down low from row 3 taking the lead away on lap 6. Laps later Koehler faded as his racer suffered 2 burnt plug wires. With Snellenberger on point Greg Gretz and Troy Muench closed in on the rear bumper of “Snelly” making it a 3 car battle for the lead. Dave Bouche, Charlie Kroll and Scott Reinhardt waged battle for the fourth spot. Point leader coming into the night, Jeremy Wiitala exploded a transmission which dropped him from competition. Gretz gave it one last ditch effort muscling Snellenberger off the low groove coming for the checkers, but Snelly had just enough forward bite to take the win, it was his first ever feature win at Thunderhill. Gretz settled for second, Muench placed third and inherited the point lead. Dave Bouche placed fourth, moving him to second in the standings 3 behind Muench and Charlie Kroll took home fifth.

After a few weeks off “Felix” Todd Dart made a triumphant return winning in the IMCA Modifieds.

Billy LeMieux mixed it up early going 3 wide down low passing Scott Derenne on the opening lap. Dart also did the same 3 wide move and positioned himself in the second spot. LeMieux and Dart ran the same line nose to tail for the next 3 laps. Dart then took to the high side working to the outside of LeMieux and to the lead on lap 6. Dart then marched away from the field but the caution would fly 6 laps later erasing his huge lead. This time it was point leader James Tebon on the prowl moving to the second spot. A suspension issue hampered Tebon’s advances as he battled Cory Cochart and LeMieux. All alone up front was Dart cruising to the checkers taking his first win of the season. Cochart captured a solid second, Tebon placed third, LeMieux fourth and Derenne fifth. The win netted Dart an extra $100 from Ducksy Racing.

Bernie Reinhardt scored his second win of the season fighting off point leader Randy LeMieux Jr. in the IMCA Sport Mod headliner.

Josh Massart and Rick LeMieux traded the lead for the first few laps of the IMCA Sport Mod feature. Bernie Reinhardt wasted no time powering from row 4 to the inside of Massart and LeMieux making a 3 wide pass for the lead on lap 5. Midway through the contest last weeks winner Kelsy Hayes, Massart and LeMieux suffered mechanical issues ending their good runs. Point leader Randy LeMieux Jr. worked his way through the field and to the back bumper of Reinhardt but in the end it was Reinhardt pulling away through a set of cautions scoring his second win of the season. LeMieux Jr. still holds the point lead, Jarred VanLaanen rallied to third after being sent to the back of the feature after contact with John Soukup. Rookie Brandon Peterson was fourth and James Iverson rounded out the top five. The win netted Reinhardt an extra $100 from Ducksy Racing.

Tom Brumlic padded his point lead scoring the win in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

The first 3 laps saw three different leaders with Naomi Weidner, Eric Micolichek and eventual leader Derek Moede. Moede’s reign in the top spot didn’t last long as Tom Brumlic closed in and passed Moede on the high side on lap 7 and never looked back scoring the win. Moede had to settle for second, Travis Hackett fought through his mechanical gremlins placing third, Dave Schmidt placed fourth in his first run of the season and last weeks winner CJ Weckler came home fifth.

Todd Polster returned to victory lane in the Street Stocks with his 3rd main event win.

Jimmy “Windows” Anderson paced the opening circuits before Todd Polster maneuvered his way around Windows for the lead. Polster set sail and scored a division high 3rd feature win, even though he has only raced 4 nights. Geno Sternard scored a solid second, with a third place finish Anderson moved to 2nd in the standings, Jeremy Schultz fourth and Ed Franklin placed fifth.

Point leader Dennis Weidner blew up his engine in the heat race and had to use a backup car and finished mid pack. Weidner’s lead shrunk to 7 points over Anderson.
