(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 25 – Olson Fabrication Night at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway will be action packed to say the least. The annual Trailer Race of Destruction will again take place mixing racing and a demo-derby into the nights finale. This will be Thunderhill’s third and final night for the Kay Distributing $1 Coors specials.
Due to last weeks rainout the Estes Family Night drivers bicycle race and giveaway will take place this Saturday July 28. 6 children will choose their favorite driver and those drivers will race around the track . After the race the bikes will be given to those 6 children.
Olson Fabrication is owned and operated by 1997 Street Stock Champion, Shawn Olson.
Last time we had green flag action fans saw Algoma’s “Felix” Todd Dart take home his 45th feature win in the Kelsey Racing IMCA Modifieds. Dart has scored wins in 19 of the 20 years since the track reopened in 1993, which began while he was racing for the late Wally Massart, father of Darrel Massart. Wally is also a member of Luxemburg Speedway’s “Hall of Fame”.
3rd Generation driver Devin Snellenberger of Pulaski earned his first career feature at Thunderhill in the Algoma Motors IMCA Stock Cars. Devin is son of former Hill Stock Car Champion, “Hot” Rod Snellenberger.
Hometown driver Bernie Reinhardt became the first repeat winner in the Butchs Auto IMCA Sport Mods. The win was Reinhardt’s 19th career Thunderhill win. Reinhardt holds titles in the Bombers and Street Stocks. Reinhardt is the only driver to have raced every night since the track reopened in 93’.
In the Lackie Rentals Street Stocks it was West Jacksonport’s “Hot Rod” Todd Polster scoring his 3rd feature win of the season. Polster also has a second place finish and DNF to his season and he was leading the feature where he had mechanical failure. Polster is racing a car that was built more than 10 years ago by former Sturgeon Bay racer Jeff Ludwig. Polster is the hired gun racing the car for former Street Stock Champion, Johnny “The Jet” Sternard
Denmark’s Tom “Tuffy” Brumlic scored his first feature win of the season in the LaVine’s Ice IMCA Hobby Stocks. With the win Brumlic moves into a tie for 2nd in the division with a total of 15 feature wins. He’s currently tied with Keith Kickbusch as both trail Ed Anschutz who has 20 wins. Kickbusch and Anschutz have a combined 4 Hobby Stock titles as Brumlic looks to secure his first.
