(Sturgeon Bay, WI) – Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway will pay respects to former racer Bob Brown of Forestville who passed away in April. The night will be brought to you by Sturgeon Bay’s Jim Olson Motors. Jim Olson will be passing out hats and certificates to race fans for free oil changes. Should be another great night for racing so come get your thrill at Thunderhill Saturday night June 16.
Algoma’s James Lee Tebon is perfect so far this season winning the first 2 features. The win becomes Tebon’s 7th in the IMCA Modifieds. Eric Arneson of Oconto Falls, Kewaunee’s Cory Cochart and Algoma’s Todd Dart sit in a three way tie for 2nd 5 points behind Tebon.
Defending IMCA Stock Car Champion Troy Muench of Brussels, fought off Algoma’s Dave Bouche for his first win of the young season. The win brought Muench into a 3 way tie for the point lead with Dave Bouche and Kewaunee’s Greg Gretz.
Green Bay’s Jarred VanLaanen scored his first career IMCA Sport Mod feature win. VanLaanen a graduate of the IMCA Hobby Stocks now has feature wins in two divisions. Opening night feature winner Randy LeMieux Jr. of Sturgeon Bay, holds a slim 1 point lead over VanLaanen.
Luxemburg’s Scott Boulanger made his first outing of the season a successful one taking home the feature win in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. It was Boulanger’s first ever Thunderhill win. Algoma’s Travis Hackett holds a 1 point edge over veteran Tom Brumlic of Denmark.
Algoma’s Marcus Moede made a splash in the Street Stocks racing his 2011 Luxemburg Speedway Championship IMCA Hobby Stock to victory Saturday night over Jacksonport’s Mayor, Todd Polster. Moede is also running for rookie of the year in the IMCA Stock Cars which made it a busy night for him jumping between 2 divisions. Maplewood’s Dennis Weidner leads the point standings into week #3 with a 2 point lead over Sturgeon Bay’s Marvin Denny.
Next weeks races will pay honor to Sturgeon Bay’s Terry Simon with the 1st Annual Terry Simon Memorial. Terry‘s wife Darlene will have decals for sale to commemorate the night, $5each or 3 for $10. All proceeds raised will be put into drivers pay for that night.
