(Sturgeon Bay, WI) June 28- Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway preps for its first ever Stock Car “King of the Hill” Tournament. This event has been held in the past for the Modifieds and Sport Mods. The event will pay a cool $500 to the winner and take place after all the features are finished. There is no added cost to enter the special race, all you have to do is show up at the track with your Stock Car this Saturday June 30.

The tournament will be set by a random draw. Two cars on the track at a time racing for two laps with winner moving onto the next round until a winner is crowned.

The night will be brought you by Young Automotive and one of Sturgeon Bay’s favorite watering holes, Poh’s Corner Pub.

Algoma’s James Lee Tebon still sits atop the standings in the IMCA Modifieds with a 6 point edge over Sturgeon Bay’s Billy LeMieux. Former IMCA Sport Mod champ Eric Arneson sits just 7 markers back in third place. Frog Station’s Dan Ratajczak leaped into fourth in the standings after his dominating feature win last Saturday night, he now sits tied with Kewaunee’s Cory Cochart just 9 points behind. Cochart also has a title in the Sport Mods coming in 2009.

Troy Muench of Brussels entered last week in a three way tie for the points lead in the IMCA Stock Cars. When the night ended he found himself still tied for the lead, but this time it was with Green Bay’s Jeremy Wiitala. Algoma’s David Bouche sits third just 1 point back of the co-point leaders. Algoma’s Shawn Havel has quietly worked into title contention just 6 marks back of the lead. Fresh off a feature win Forestville’s Charlie Kroll sits fifth in points, just 7 points back of the top spot.

Sturgeon Bay’s Randy LeMieux Jr. leads the standings in the IMCA Sport Mods for the 3rd week in a row. Green Bay’s Jarred VanLaanen went for the feature win last week but in the end it cost him a couple points too LeMieux as he was caught on the high side and ended finishing behind LeMieux. He sits second in points 2 markers back of the leader. Bernie Reinhardt of Sturgeon Bay ended a dry spell picking up his first feature win since 2009. The win moved him within 3 points of LeMieux.

Denmark veteran Tom Brumlic leads the standings in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. CJ Weckler of Sturgeon Bay moved into title contention with his first sanctioned feature win last Saturday. Former Street Stock champion Phil Faustini moved up to third in the standing just 8 back of Brumlic. Former point leader Tyler Hackett of Algoma suffered a broken drive shaft that dropped him to fourth in the standings 10 points behind Brumlic. East Maplewood’s Amber Weidner continues with a career season sitting fifth in the point chase 12 back of the leader.

Dennis Weidner of East Maplewood leads everyone in the Street Stock standing holding a 7 point edge over Sturgeon Bay’s Marvin Denny. Denny was caught up in an opening lap wreck that left him with a busted tie rod and DNF for the night. Forestville’s Jimmy Anderson sits third still in title contention 13 points out of the top spot.
