THUNDERHILL OPENER CANCELLED FOR MAY 10, INSTEAD A PRACTICE WILL BE HELD AT 3:30pm

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) May 9, 2014- Officials at Thunderhill Raceway have decided to cancel the season opener for this Saturday May 10. The track is too soft for a full race night, especially on the top groove where it’s to wet for a 20 car feature. Woody has stated from the beginning that the track had to be 100% ready.

So instead of the opener this Saturday May 10 a practice will be held from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. This will allow for the perfect number of cars to be on the track at once and allow track officials to focus…

Our open practice session scheduled for this Saturday the 19th has been CANCELED due to the weather. Opening night is slated for the 26th on our schedule, but we really need a warmup to start prepping the track properly.

Other feature winners were Todd Dart (IMCA Modified), Vince Engebregtsen (IMCA Sport Mod), Ford Malvitz (IMCA Hobby Stock), Billy LeMieux (Street Stock) and Tory Peterson (Thunder Truck). After winning two features on Sunday, he came back to repeat the feat Wednesday night as Thunderhill Raceway’s program shifted to midweek to open the Door County Fair.
