Saturday August 7 will be the 2^nd Annual Nathan Bouche Memorial with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Northern Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks and Streets Stocks.

Due to last weeks rainout Quietwoods RV and Miller Lite will team up for the 4th Annual Christmas in July night.. Miller will have tons of giveaways during the nightly events.

Drivers and crews are encouraged to decorate their cars and trailers for the festive evening.

Santa will be at the track with giveaways for the kids. Due to a FFA conflict we will not be able to have the sky diving Santa.

For the fourth year in a row ThunderHill will have a Christmas in July theme. Including a sky diving Santa Claus at intermission courtesy of Sky Dive Door County.

Jay Matthias became the ninth in different winner in as many nights in the IMCA Mods. With his win he now pulls within 1 point of leader Todd Dart with just 6 nights remaining.

Scott Reinhardt not only scored his first top 4 in the IMCA Stockcars he also scored his first career win! Reinhardt is a former Bomber and Street Stock Champion.

The Street Stock points lead again changed hands as Andy Paluch suffered damage in an opening lap wreck and went laps down. Opening night feature winner James Bosman now sits back a top the standings.

Action was hot and heavy in the IMCA Stockcar class, as 4 engines were claimed after the feature. The lines have been drawn in the sand so to speak and pits area is divided. You can expect the sparks in to fly in the class they call “Too tough To Tame” this Saturday night.

In addition ThunderHill his will hosting the 2^nd Annual King of The Hill Modified Tournament, courtesy of Packerland Whey. This special event will take place during intermission and will pay $500 to the winner.

We will take the top 2 out of each heat race and two provisional starters chosen by Packerland Whey. There will be only 2 cars at a time to race each other for 2 laps. The winner advances to the next round, until were down too the final two drivers. Again it will be a two lap race with winner taking home $500!

Lasts years winner was Tim Czarneski.

Weekly Notes:

Travis Hackett capture his first career win in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. This is Travis’s rookie season for the former quad racer. The car Hackett is racing is no stranger to the clay at ThunderHill. The car originated in the late 90’s, built by former Street Stock Champion, Shawn Olson. The car was originally built as a 2 man enduro car. It was then later converted to a Hobby Stock where it was piloted by Kelsy Hayes last season. Hackett scored a clean sweep winning the heat as well.

Along with Hackett scoring their first ThunderHill wins, Kyle Wanner picked up his first ever Hill feature in the IMCA Stockcars and Joey Scoon capture his first career feature in only his 4^th night racing in the Feisty 4’s.

But the story of the night had to be in the IMCA Modifieds as Veteran Chris Derenne held off a hard charging Jared Siefert to pick his first feature win since 7/22/00.

After a tough start to the season James Lee Tebon picked up his first feature win of the year in the IMCA Modifieds. Tebon is a former street stock driver now has a handful of feature wins in the Mods.

The point lead in Street Stocks seems to be a revolving door as we saw a third different point leader in 7 nights of racing. With a 3^rd place finish, 2-time feature winner Andy Paluch moved to the top of the hill, holding a slim 3 point lead over James Bosman and Geno Sternard.

Chargin Charlie Kroll picked up the win in the IMCA Stock Cars, his first at ThunderHill. Kroll fought of point leader Greg Gretz who came home second. Once in victory lane, Kroll would be notified that the #60 of Kyle Wanner had claimed his engine. Kroll would accept the claim and the two parties would swap engines. Kroll now sits 3^rd in the standing behind John Heinz and Gretz.

IMCA rules allow anyone on the lead lap to claim the engine of anyone of the top 4 finishers. Its up to the driver being claimed to choose if he wants to deny the claim, accept and take the money, or accept and swap engines. Denying the claim comes with a fine and suspension.

Nathan ran a few mechanics races and crewed for his dad each and every summer. The car Nathan drove was sold a few years back, Tony was able to find the car and purchased it. The goal is have the car ready for the 2^nd Annual Nathan Bouche Memorial at ThunderHill Raceway on August 7, 2010.

Tony a 30 plus year veteran in racing is asking the racing community for their help in getting the Ford ThunderBird on the track for the August 7 date. The car will be outfitted with the #27 which is the number Nathan wanted. The car will only be raced each year during the Nathan Bouche Memorial Event.
Donations are a one time thing, once the car is done it will always stay that way. Anyone donating will have there name placed on the car forever. Tony asks that you please not tell his wife, he wants it to be a surprise for her.

Tom Stark captured his first IMCA Sport Mod win, but Tom’s racer never made into victory lane. As he pulled into the infield flames erupted from under the hood. The power steering hose broke spraying fluid all over the headers, which ignited. His car also suffered a cut left rear tire, so it was pure luck he even finished the race.

Defending Champion Mike Pierrard won the IMCA Stock Car feature. His first of the season. Mike then headed back to his hometown of Green Bay where he packed his luggage and boarded a plane to Georgia. Mike is being relocated by his employer Georgia-Pacific, to Georgia for the remainder of the summer. Mike will be using some vacation for a few select nights of racing.

Former IMCA Hobby Stock Champion Keith “the kicker” Kickbusch made his return to the division after a 3 year hiatus, he also returned in the same car that won him the 2006 & 2007 titles. Kickbusch who had run sport mods for the last 2 seasons had sold all his equipment and had been spending more time on the lake than at the track. The car is currently owned by Marcus Moede. Moede had the car sitting and was looking for a driver, so the deal was made. “I’ve known Keith a long time and I know he won’t tear my equipment up.” “We pieced the car together with old spare parts, so it’s definitely a low budget ride” Said car owner Moede. It’s uncertain how many nights Kickbusch will race. “I’m just happy to be racing again” stated Kickbusch.

On Thursday, August 5 there will be a special with the winged sprints, IMCA modifieds & IMCA northern sport mods. On Saturday, August 7 all six regular divisions will be in action for the 2nd annual Nathan Bouche Memorial. More information on these specials will be coming soon.

Luke Lemmens is eying first title as he sits with a 15 point lead in the hobby stocks over defending champion Frank Paul. With his second feature win of the season Brandon Peterson moved into the third spot 16 back.

Current point leader Todd Dart came from deep in the field after breaking a shock in his heat race. Dart would rally late and finishing in the top 4. Extending his point lead over Jay Matthias to 6 points.

Stockcar co-point leaders Troy Muench and John Heinz would both encounter trouble which would cost both of the point lead as Greg Gretz picked up his second win of the season. With the win Gretz is now the new point leader putting Muench 4 back and Heinz 5 back.

Jesse Kroll is leading the points for the first time in his career in the sport mods. He’s locked in a dog fight with Eric Arneson who sits 1 point back and 3 time feature winner Brad Lautenbach is 7 back.

Geno Sternard took over the points lead in the street stocks as James Bosman was caught up in a opening lap crash, sending him to the pits. Bosman now sits 7 back.

Jeremy DuBois came in the co-point leader in the 4 cyl’s, but with the win now holds a 2 point lead over Mike Sargent.
