IMCA Modifieds Race for $800 Top Prize at Thunderhill’s Fair Night Special August 5

July 29, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI – Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway will host the annual Door County Fair Night Special this season on Wednesday, August 5.  All four IMCA divisions will be in action along with the 4 cylinders.  The NEW super stocks will have the night off.

The night will be a non-track points night, but drivers will be awarded both state and national points.  The event will follow the draw/redraw format for all divisions.  The claim rule will be in effect.

Payout is based on a 25 car field for each division, with the top prizes being $800…

Thunderhill Raceway Canceled for 7/25

July, 25, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI – Thunderstorms and persistent rain showers have canceled tonight’s racing program for Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Woody’s Signs and Econo Foods Sponsor “Christmas in July” Night at Thunderhill

July 23, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI – Woody’s Signs and Econo Foods of Sturgeon Bay will sponsor the annual “Christmas in July” themed event this Saturday night at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Race teams are encouraged to dress up their race haulers with a Christmas theme, as prizes will be awarded to the best appearing rigs. The track and personnel will be donning Christmas decorations and apparel as well.

Racing begins at 6pm on Saturday evening with IMCA modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, northern sport mods, NEW super stocks and 4 cylinders hitting the 1/3 mile clay oval. …

Madden Scores First Career IMCA Mod Win at Thunderhill

July 18, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Algoma’s Evan Madden led all 20 laps and fended off heavy pressure from Kevin Sternard to pick up his first career IMCA modified victory at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Madden took off from the pole position and feathered the throttle, building a nice lead over the rest of the field. Sternard started to chomp away at the lead midway through the caution-free contest, getting to Madden’s bumper with 5 laps remaining. Sternard took a peak on the inside…

Tebon Roars to Victory in Mods at Thunderhill

July 11, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Algoma’s James Lee Tebon got by Chris Derenne midway through the IMCA modified feature and cruised to victory at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Derenne set the pace early on with Tebon lurking up high. Tebon made the pass stick on lap 10 and begun to build up a straightaway lead on the field. A caution flag flew, bunching the field. July 4, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Fremont’s Mike Wedelstadt held off defending IMCA modified track champion Todd Dart to pick up his second feature win of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. June 27, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Egg Harbor’s Tom Stark survived heavy pressure from New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore to capture the IMCA modified feature win at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Old Faces Return to Victory Lane

June 13, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Luxemburg’s Dave Zeitler led every lap of the IMCA modified feature en route to his first feature win of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. Zeitler wasn’t the only veteran to see victory lane as Jerry Wenzel, Eugene Gregorich and Eddie Anschutz also picked up feature wins on the night.

Zeitler grabbed the lead right out of the box and took to the high line right away. Billy Lemieux took the second spot on the low line, followed by Jeremy Jacobs….

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) May 9, 2015 Results- Last night at Thunderhill Raceway a pair cagey veterans in Tony Bouche and Charlie Kroll squared off. Bouche was able to put his 38 years of racing knowledge to good use as he out dueled Kroll late in the going to score a popular win in the IMCA Stock Cars. Other feature winners were Greg Gretz (IMCA Modified), Cody Rass (IMCA Sport Mod), Dave Schmidt (IMCA Hobby Stock) and James Dahlstrom (Street Stock)
