Defending IMCA Stock Car Champion Troy Muench of Brussels, fought off Algoma’s Dave Bouche for his first win of the young season. The win brought Muench into a 3 way tie for the point lead with Dave Bouche and Kewaunee’s Greg Gretz.

Green Bay’s Jarred VanLaanen scored his first career IMCA Sport Mod feature win. VanLaanen a graduate of the IMCA Hobby Stocks now has feature wins in two divisions. Opening night feature winner Randy LeMieux Jr. of Sturgeon Bay, holds a slim 1 point lead over VanLaanen.

Algoma’s Marcus Moede made a splash in the Street Stocks racing his 2011 Luxemburg Speedway Championship IMCA Hobby Stock to victory Saturday night over Jacksonport’s Mayor, Todd Polster. $1 COORS LIGHT ON PALMER JOHNSON NIGHT AT THUNDERHILL JUNE 9

Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway is set to kick off night #2 on Saturday June 9, brought to you by Palmer Johnson Yachts. The night will feature $1 Coors Light! Looks to be some warm weather this weekend and theirs nothing better than a cold beer on a hot night. The track has also upgraded its food menu, so be sure to check out the yummy additions.

Opening night saw Algoma’s James Lee Tebon take home top honors in the Kelsey Racing IMCA Modifieds. Tebon who has several feature wins switched from a Victory Chassis to a Slick Chassis for the 2012 season.

2009 Champion Gretz of Kewaunee put on a dominating performance in the Algoma Motors IMCA Stock Cars. Gretz drives a Ford powered machine with a chassis that him and his younger brother Kraig built.

They say old race cars never die, they just go faster and Sturgeon Bay‘s “The Kid” Randy LeMieux Jr. proved that taking home the feature win driving for Darrel Massart in the Butch’s Auto IMCA Sport Mods. The chassis originally started as a Pro Chassis in the early 2000’s and was raced as an IMCA Mod by Mike Mashl. Massart then bought and raced the car several years taking home many wins. It was then sold and purchased by Keith Kickbush who ran it for 2 seasons as a Sport Mod. Massart then bought the car back and with LeMieux behind the wheel picked up the teams first win on opening night. This is why the car number is “218” 2 which is notorious with the Massart Family and the 18 which is LeMieux’s car number.

Algoma’s Travis Hackett took home the main event in the Livine’s Ice IMCA Hobby Stocks. Hackett is in his third year in the division was a title contender all the way to the final point night in 2011. Hackett wheels a FAST Chassis which is built by former Street Stock Champion & current IMCA Stock Car Driver Dave Bouche. Bouche has built several winning Championship cars for such drivers as Craig Paque and Keith Kickbush.

Maplewood’s Dennis Weidner made a memorable win in the Lackie Rentals & Remodeling Street Stocks. Dennis who suffered a mechanical failure in the heat race borrowed his daughter Naomi’s IMCA Hobby Stock to run the Street Stock feature. When the dust settled Weidner held on for the win in an under powered car and is the point leader for the first time in his career.

Clintonville’s Calvin Stueck scored a clean sweep in the Feisty Fours. Stueck is the defending Champion at Thunderhill and he has 4 feature wins and is sitting second in points at Seymour Super Speedway, making him one of the top dogs in the Four Cylinders.
