KING OF THE HILL MODIFIED TOURNAMENT RESCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 13

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) August 1 - Due to the cancellation Saturday night because of rain, Thunderhill Raceway has rescheduled the Packerland Whey “King of The Hill” IMCA Modified tournament for Saturday August 13.

Every IMCA Modified driver that enters the gate Saturday August 13 will automatically be entered into the “King of The Hill” tournament.

Right now the tournament is scheduled to take place at intermission, two drivers on the track at a time racing for 2 laps with the winner moving to the next round until a winner is crowned. The winner will take home a guaranteed $500, Woody is hard at work trying to find additional funding to raise the winners share. The night will be brought to you by Sturgeon Bay’s Witt Peninsula Ford.

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 31 – Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway prepares to start the month of August with a bang. The IMCA Stock Cars will kick off the first of 2 specials with a rare Thursday race on August 4. that pays $1000 to win. Joining the Stock Cars will be the MSA Winged Sprints and the Midwest Legend cars.

Thursday Night
Pit Gate Admission – $25.00
Stock Car Driver Entry – $20.00

The IMCA Stock Cars will be racing for $1000 to win, 2nd $500, 3rd $375, 4th $200 and will pay $100 to start, with a guaranteed purse. The night will feature a draw redraw format and will be IMCA sanctioned. The night will be for State, Regional and National points. It is NOT a track point night. Note no other regular divisions are running this night. Racing starts at 6pm.

The second special will take place on Saturday August 6. It will be IMCA sanctioned and be for track points. The Feisty Fours have the night off. Racing starts at 6pm.

Prices to get in the fair if you don’t want to go on any rides is only $5 and the grandstand will be $8. Making a total of only $13 to see some of the areas best drivers compete. Thunderhill Canceled for 7/30

Rain and high winds have forced the track officials at Thunderhill Raceway to cancel the planned events at the track tonight. A reminder that there will be racing this coming Thursday night at 6pm with the MSA sprint cars invading the track, along with the Midwest Legend cars and IMCA stock cars.

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) July 25 – The Door County Fair will feature a Thursday night show at Thunderhill Raceway on August 4. This will be the first of two fair specials taking place that week.

The IMCA Stock Cars will be racing for $1000 to win, 2nd $500, 3rd $375, 4th $200 and will pay $100 to start with a guaranteed purse. The night will feature a draw redraw format and will be IMCA sanctioned. The night will be for State, Regional and National points. It is NOT a track point night.

Joining the Stock Cars will be the MSA Winged Sprint cars who put on a great show last year, racing 3 and 4 wide on the 1/3 mile clay oval. The Midwest Legend cars will be making their first ever appearance at Thunderhill.

The nightly events will be brought to you by Sturgeon Bay’s Quietwoods RV & Campgrounds.

“A late change to this years format will benefit all drivers and give them a chance at the $500 pay day.” Stated Woody.

The “King of The Hill” tournament is being bought to you by Luxemburg’s Packerland Whey. The night will be a regular point night and the tournament will have NO baring on the point standings. It is regular admission for the pits and grandstand.

In 2009 former Wisconsin State Champion Tim Czarneski took home the $500 and in 2010 Tony Wedelstadt took top honors.
