Dart Passes Kilgore on Final Lap for Modified Victory at Thunderhill

by Chris Budzban

August 22, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI – Seeking his 7th modified track title, Todd Dart cut his deficit to a mere two points by winning the IMCA modified feature over Shawn Kilgore at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Ryan LeMieux and Chris Derenne fought for the early lead of the modified feature, with Brett Wenzel close behind. Kilgore rode the outside lane into the 4th spot, and motored past Wenzel and in between LeMieux and Derenne to take the lead. Kilgore built up a strong lead with Dart getting into the second spot. A caution flag flew with 4 laps remaining, taking away Kilgore’s advantage. Dart made his move with the white flag in the air, and was able to make the inside pass stick to get the win. Kilgore settled for second, Tim Czarneski third, Jeremy Jacobs fourth and Jay Matthias fifth.

In the special “King of the Hill” IMCA modified races, Czarneski defeated Dave Zeitler, Dan Ratajczak and finally Kilgore to pick up the $500 prize, courtesy of Packerland Whey.

Brussels’ Troy Muench captured his 4th feature win of the season in the IMCA stock car division. Charlie Kroll set the pace early, building up a nice lead over Muench and Pat Davister. A caution flag flew, and on the restart Davister looked to the inside of Kroll with Muench to the outside. Kroll was able to fight off Davister, but then Muench was able to get by. Muench would go on to win, Davister second, followed by Kroll, Kyle Wanner and Brandon Czarapata.

Luck was on the side of Kewaunee’s Eugene Gregorich in the IMCA northern sport mod feature. Gregorich wrestled the lead away from Luxemburg’s Dave Davister with 3 laps remaining in the contest, and looked to be on his way to another win. When the white flag flew, Gregorich’s transmission broke, slowing his mount on the backstretch. However, a caution flag flew for an incident between James Iverson and points leader Brad Lautenbach, which by rule gave the win to Gregorich. Eric Arneson would be scored second, followed by Jesse Kroll, Davister and Cory Cochart.

Sturgeon Bay’s Brandon Peterson was able to make the pass on Jarred VanLaanen on the final lap of the IMCA hobby stock feature. VanLaanen led most of the contest, with plenty of heat applied by Luke Lemmens. Peterson charged his way to the front, and glued his front bumper to the back of VanLaanen. Into turn 1, VanLaanen went a little too high, and Peterson went by to get the win. VanLaanen settled for second, Lemmens third, Frank Paul fourth and Robert Waechter, Jr. fifth.

Green Bay’s Todd Everard held off heavy pressure from points leader Jeremy Wiitala to capture the win in the NEW super stock division. Wiitala tried the outside on several occasions to get by, but Everard was too strong and fought off every challenge. Wiitala settled for second, Dennis Weidner third, James Anderson fourth and David Baenen fifth.

4 cylinder points leader Kipp Burlo padded his lead by picking up the feature win over Matt Borths.

Next week is Harbor Lady Cruises Championship Night. 2009 Champions will be crowned in all six divisions. Racing gets underway at 6pm. For more information, visit www.racethunderhill.com or call (920) 743-7052.

“Frog Station Flash” Ratajczak Conquers Mods at Thunderhill

73 Ratajczak - 3

By Chris Budzban

August 15, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI – Frog Station’s Dan Ratajczak passed Two Rivers’ Kyle Kudick and held off defending track champion Todd Dart to pick up his 1st feature win of the season in the IMCA modified division at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

A pileup in the middle of the pack sent Jay Matthias and points leader Shawn Kilgore down pit lane early. Both would rejoin the field, but Kilgore later pulled off with more issues. On the restart, Kudick jumped to the outside of Ryan LeMieux to grab the lead. Another caution flag flew, and Ratajczak took aim at Kudick. He made a daring cut down into turn 1 to make the pass, and slid up in front of Kudick’s bumper taking the lead. A late caution bunched the field again, as Ratajczak was able to fend off Dart for the win. Dart settled for second, followed by Kudick, Billy LeMieux and Art Siefert.

Brussels’ Shawn Havel captured his 4th feature win in the IMCA stock car division. Defending champion Matt Junio of Casco took the lead early on in the contest, with Pat Davister and Havel battling for second. Havel would get by Davister halfway through, and then set his sights on Junio. With 2 laps remaining, Havel dove to the inside of Junio and took the lead away and the win. Junio took second, Davister third, Von Eytcheson fourth and Greg Gretz fifth.

Kewaunee’s Eugene Gregorich passed James Iverson on his way to winning the IMCA northern sport mod feature. Iverson created a nice lead from his front row starting position, but Gregorich sliced through the pack and started to close in halfway through the contest. Gregorich made the move on the inside stick, and cruised to the feature win. Brad Lautenbach grabbed the second spot, followed by Iverson, Jeff DuBois and Martin Kelsey.

Kewaunee’s Luke Lemmens raced around James Bosman and held off Brandon Peterson to pick up the victory in the IMCA hobby stocks. The contest had an early red flag, with Sturgeon Bay’s CJ Weckler ending up on his roof. Weckler would escape without injury. Lemmens went to the outside of Bosman on the restart and never looked back. Peterson finished second, followed by Frank Paul, Bosman and Jarred VanLaanen.

The NEW super stock division put on quite a show, as early on it looked like Dennis Weidner and Todd Everard would duel for the top spot throughout the race. Weidner suffered a mechanical issue, and Everard dropped out with a flat tire. The lead was handed momentarily to Jeremy Wiitala, but Tim Jandrin quickly took over the top spot. Wiitala fought back on the outside to regain the lead, and then was hounded by John Sternard to his inside. Sternard got by Wiitala with 2 laps remaining to pick up the victory. Wiitala finished second, Jandrin third, James Anderson fourth and Gene Sternard fifth.

Sturgeon Bay’s Kipp Burlo picked up another win in the 4 cylinder division.

Next week’s races are sponsored by Wisconsin Custom Machine of Denmark. Racing gets underway at 6pm with IMCA modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, northern sport mods, NEW super stocks and 4 cylinders in action. For more information, visit www.racethunderhill.com or call (920) 743-7052.

August 5, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Algoma’s Todd Dart got by Sturgeon Bay’s Kevin Sternard with 2 laps remaining to take home the $1,450 top prize in the IMCA modifieds at the 1st annual Nathan Bouche Memorial at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Sternard took charge from lap 1 and stuck to the bottom of the race track with Dart and Shawn Kilgore nipping at his heels.  Kilgore tried to swoop around Sternard on the outside on a couple occasions, but the inside line held true.  With two laps to go, Sternard came off of turn 4 a little high, allowing Dart to take the inside away into turn 1.  Dart would get by on the backstretch along with Kilgore, with Dart getting the victory.  Kilgore finished second, Sternard third, Jeremy Jacobs fourth and James Tebon fifth.

In the IMCA stock car feature, the Snellenbergers were the men to beat, as father Rod and son Devin took control of the top two spots early on in the event.  Rod Snellenberger got out to a comfy lead when a caution flag flew for Shawn Havel, whose engine had expired.  Rod Snellenberger was able to build his lead back up taking the checkers, while his son Devin held off heavy pressure from Matt Junio and John Heinz to take the runner-up spot.  Junio finished third, Heinz fourth and Pat Davister fifth.

Saturday night’s feature winner in the IMCA hobby stocks Jarred VanLaanen took home the win over Brandon Peterson.  Peterson fought hard on the outside in the waning laps, and almost succeeded with a crossover move with 2 laps to go.  VanLaanen was able to fight him off and take the win.  Peterson finished second, Robert Waechter Jr. third, Marcus Moede fourth and Frank Paul fifth.

New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach was looking to do what VanLaanen did in the hobby stocks, as he was the feature winner last Saturday night and held the top spot in the IMCA northern sport mod division.  On a restart, Travis VanStraten took to the outside of Lautenbach and grabbed the lead.  Eugene Gregorich also slipped by into second, and challenged late for the race lead.  VanStraten held on for the win followed by Gregorich, Lautenbach, Eric Arneson and Bernie Reinhardt.

Sturgeon Bay’s Kipp Burlo held off Saturday night’s feature winner Jeremy DuBois to get the win in the 4 cylinder division.

Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway’s staff would like to thank all the sponsors who pitched in to help make the 1st annual Nathan Bouche Memorial a special event for both the track and for the Bouche family.

A reminder to fans and drivers that there will be no racing this coming Saturday, August 8.  Racing will resume next Saturday, August 15 at 6pm with the regular racing program of IMCA modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, northern sport mods, NEW super stocks and 4 cylinders.

Kilgore Dices to 2nd IMCA Modified Win at Thunderhill

by Chris Budzban

August 1, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI – New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore sliced and diced his way through the field of IMCA modifieds to capture his 2nd feature win of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. Kilgore also won the feature on Friday night at Luxemburg Speedway.

Two Rivers’ Brett Wenzel set the pace early on in the modified feature, with Billy LeMieux and Chris Derenne right behind. Kilgore started picking off cars one by one on the outside, steadily making his way into the top 3. About halfway through, Kilgore had pulled even with Wenzel and eventually took over the lead. James Tebon followed suit and started gaining on Kilgore with 3 laps remaining. Kilgore would pull away in the final laps to take home the checkers, Tebon second, Jeremy Jacobs third, Wenzel fourth and Todd Dart fifth.

Two Rivers’ Jerry Wenzel took home the win in the IMCA stock car division for the 2nd week in a row, beating out a hard charging Shawn Havel. Wenzel had built himself a big lead, but a string of cautions bunched the field back up. With 3 laps to go, Havel jumped to the outside, but he was unable to make a move on Wenzel. Wenzel picked up the win, followed by Havel, Dave Bouche, Matt Junio and Mike Pierrard.

A photo finish occurred in the IMCA hobby stock division. Forestville’s Roger LaViolette led the majority of the feature, but was under some heavy pressure from Jarred VanLaanen and points leader Frank Paul. On the final lap, VanLaanen pulled to the outside of LaViolette, and beat him out by inches at the finish line for the win. Paul would finish third, Luke Lemmens fourth and CJ Weckler fifth.

In the IMCA northern sport mod division, New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach made a three-wide pass for the lead and held off Eugene Gregorich en route to his 2nd feature win of the season at Thunderhill. Gregorich made things interesting on the final lap, but Lautenbach edged him by about half a car length at the line. Cory Cochart came in third, Jesse Kroll fourth and Eric Arneson fifth.

Seymour’s Jeremy Wiitala padded his points lead in the NEW super stock division by picking up his 5th feature win at Thunderhill. Wiitala took the lead early from Dennis Weidner and went on to a convincing win. Weidner settled for second, Todd Everard third, John Sternard fourth and James Anderson fifth.

Sturgeon Bay’s Jeremy DuBois took home the feature win in the 4 cylinder division.

Madden Scores First Career IMCA Mod Win at Thunderhill

340

By Chris Budzban

July 18, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Algoma’s Evan Madden led all 20 laps and fended off heavy pressure from Kevin Sternard to pick up his first career IMCA modified victory at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Madden took off from the pole position and feathered the throttle, building a nice lead over the rest of the field. Sternard started to chomp away at the lead midway through the caution-free contest, getting to Madden’s bumper with 5 laps remaining. Sternard took a peak on the inside with 1 lap to go, but Madden was able to hold him off for his first career feature win in the division. Sternard settled for second, Shawn Kilgore third, Jeremy Jacobs fourth and Todd Dart fifth.

Two Rivers’ Jerry Wenzel captured his second feature win of the season in the IMCA stock car division. Wenzel grabbed the early lead, and built up a nice lead over Jamie Suchocki and Troy Muench. A pair of caution flags flew late, but that didn’t faze Wenzel from taking the checkers. Muench took home second, followed by Suchocki, Pat Davister and Shawn Havel.

Kewaunee’s Cory Cochart sped past James Iverson to take home his second feature win of the season in the IMCA northern sport mods. Iverson led early, but was sandwiched by Cochart on the outside and Brad Lautenbach on the inside. Cochart’s pass attempt would stick, netting him the win. Bernie Reinhardt came in second, followed by Iverson, Lautenbach and Nick Potts.

In the IMCA hobby stocks, rookie driver Adam Pallex of Algoma held off late pass attempts by points leader Frank Paul and Luke Lemmens to capture his first career IMCA hobby stock feature win. Lemmens took second, Chris Christensen third, Paul fourth and Jarred VanLaanen fifth.

NEW super stock points leader Jeremy Wiitala passed Logan Rhode on the outside with 3 laps remaining to pick up his fourth feature win on the season at Thunderhill. Rhode took second, followed by James Anderson, Todd Everard and Gene Sternard

Tebon Roars to Victory in Mods at Thunderhill

July 11, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Algoma’s James Lee Tebon got by Chris Derenne midway through the IMCA modified feature and cruised to victory at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Derenne set the pace early on with Tebon lurking up high. Tebon made the pass stick on lap 10 and begun to build up a straightaway lead on the field. A caution flag flew, bunching the field. Tebon powered back to a nice lead, with action behind him. Shawn Kilgore charged hard through the field, starting on the back row up to the top 5. Tebon held on for the win, followed by Brett Wenzel, Kilgore, Art Siefert and Eric Van Iten.

Forestville’s Von Eytcheson took command of the lead early in the IMCA stock car feature, with Shawn Havel on his outside. Troy Muench, looking for a 4th straight feature win, tangled with Jamie Suchocki, putting him a lap down to the rest of the field. Havel charged hard on the outside, getting by Eytcheson and built a comfortable lead en route to the checkers. Following Havel were Eytcheson, Pat Davister, Mike Pierrard and Dave Bouche.

An opening lap fracas took out 6 cars in the IMCA northern sport mod feature. Outside polesitter Tim Mcormick spun, collecting Eric Arneson, Jeff Lautenbach and Rod Solem among others. When the race resumed, Jeff DuBois snatched the top spot with Jesse Kroll and Brad Lautenbach in tow. Kroll jumped to the outside of DuBois and rode the outside line to victory. Bernie Reinhardt, DuBois, Lautenbach and Cory Cochart would finish second through fifth, respectively.

Hometown driver Brandon Peterson picked up his first feature win of the season in the IMCA hobby stock division. It wasn’t easy, as he had to duel with the up-and-coming 2nd year driver Luke Lemmens down to the wire. In the end, the inside line prevailed for Peterson, netting him the win. Lemmens settled for second, Frank Paul third, Marcus Moede fourth and CJ Weckler fifth.

When he’s not in the booth announcing, he’s out on the track winning features. That’s the story for Thunderhill announcer/NEW super stock driver Eddie Anschutz. Anschutz has made 3 appearances on the track this season, and picked up his second win on Saturday night. He took the lead away from Gene Sternard and promptly took the checkers. Sternard finished second, followed by Jeremy Wiitala, Dennis Weidner and James Anderson.

A wild finish in the 4 cylinder feature would net a win for Sturgeon Bay’s Kipp Burlo, his 1st of the 2009 season. Jeremy DuBois was black flagged for taking out race leader Matt Borths, giving the win to Burlo.

WEDELSTADT HOLDS OFF DART IN MODS AT THUNDERHILL

Mike Wedelstadt Thunderhill 7/4

By Chris Budzban

July 4, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Fremont’s Mike Wedelstadt held off defending IMCA modified track champion Todd Dart to pick up his second feature win of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. Brussels’ Troy Muench picked up his third consecutive feature win in the IMCA stock car division.

Denmark’s Tim Czarneski took the early lead in the IMCA modified feature, but was passed on the outside by Wedelstadt. Wedelstadt pulled away with a good lead, but contact between Shawn Kilgore and Jay Matthias drew a yellow. With 2 laps to go, Dart started to make his move on the inside, but Wedelstadt would prevail on the top line. Dart settled for second, followed by Dave Zeitler, Kevin Sternard and Kilgore, who came from the back after the incident with Matthias to finish fifth.

Nobody has been able to stop Troy Muench as of late in the IMCA stock car division. Don Aregoni grabbed the early lead, with Von Eytcheson charging hard on the inside. The two would tangle, and Muench shot through to capture the lead. The battles behind Muench would heat up, with Charlie Kroll and Bret Koehler getting together, and each ending up with a flat tire. Muench went on to win, followed by Mike Pierrard, who came from the back of the field after an early incident, Pat Davister, Dave Bouche and Jerry Wenzel.

IMCA hobby stock points leader Frank Paul picked up his fourth feature win of the season. Paul battled with Jarred VanLaanen for the top spot, but Luke Lemmens shot past VanLaanen for the runner-up spot. Lemmens took to the outside, running side by side with Paul towards the end of the race. The two would split a lapped car and come to the checkers with Paul edging out Lemmens, who blew his engine at the finish line. Roger LaViolette finished third, Brandon Peterson fourth and VanLaanen fifth.

Kewaunee’s Eugene Gregorich picked up his third feature win in the IMCA northern sport mod division. Gregorich made a three-wide pass on Jesse Kroll and Brad Lautenbach to take the lead, and then held off a charging Cory Cochart for the win. Cochart settled for second, Kroll third, Eric Arneson fourth and Lautenbach fifth.

Seymour’s Jeremy Wiitala captured his third NEW super stock feature win at Thunderhill, passing Todd Everard on the outside and holding him off for the win. Everard finished second, Logan Rhode third, Tim Jandrin fourth and James Anderson fifth.

4 cylinder points leader Kasey Gross picked up the win, cruising to an easy win.

STARK BESTS KILGORE IN MODS AT THUNDERHILL

Tom Stark Feature Win 6/27/2009

By Chris Budzban

June 27, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Egg Harbor’s Tom Stark survived heavy pressure from New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore to capture the IMCA modified feature win at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Stark shot out to the early race lead, followed closely by Tim Czarneski. Stark and Czarneski ran the top groove around the track, with Mike Wedelstadt and Kilgore down low. A late caution bunched the field, with Kilgore getting past Wedelstadt to grab the second spot. Kilgore tried to make a move down low on Stark, but Stark powered to victory. Kilgore settled for second, followed by Wedelstadt, Todd Dart and Jay Matthias.

Brussels’ Troy Muench survived a wreck-filled IMCA stock car contest to pick up his second feature win in a row at Thunderhill. A spin by Charlie Kroll wiped out multiple drivers in the top 10 in points, including Pat Davister, Shawn Havel and Dave Bouche. Muench pulled away from the field to pick up the win, followed by Mike Pierrard who came through the infield, Bret Koehler, Jamie Suchocki and Von Eytcheson.

Forestville’s Roger LaViolette picked up his 1st career feature win in the IMCA hobby stock division, doing so rather convincingly. Kelsy Hayes and Marcus Moede battled for second, but tangled in turn 3, sending both to the rear of the field. Brandon Peterson would capture the runner-up spot, followed by Luke Lemmens, Frank Paul and CJ Weckler.

Last year’s runner-up in points in the IMCA northern sport mod division Brad Lautenbach shot out to the early lead and never looked back, taking home his 1st feature win of the season. Lautenbach held off challenges from last week’s winner Bernie Reinhardt, who settled for the runner-up spot, followed by Eric Arneson, Tim Mcormick and Jesse Kroll.

Green Bay’s Todd Everard beat out rivals John Sternard and Jeremy Wiitala to capture the NEW super stock feature win. Sternard and Wiitala battled side-by-side while they caught Everard, but neither could make the pass. Sternard finished second, Wiitala third, James Anderson fourth and Tim Jandrin fifth.

Green Bay’s Tony Everard picked up his 3rd feature win of the season in the 4 cylinder division.

Next week’s action is sponsored by Arctic Glacier. Races begin at 6pm on Saturday evening, with IMCA modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, northern sport mods, NEW super stocks and 4 cylinders in action. For more information, visit www.racethunderhill.com or call (920) 743-7052.

KUDICK’S LATE PASS SECURES IMCA MOD WIN AT THUNDERHILL

Kyle Kudick

By Chris Budzban

June 20, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Two Rivers’ Kyle Kudick made the high line work and shot past Brett Wenzel with 3 laps to go, winning his 1st IMCA modified feature of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway.

Wenzel set the pace early from his front row starting spot, with Kevin Sternard right behind. Sternard fought hard down low, but Wenzel closed the door each time. A caution flew for a spin by Dan Ratajczak, bunching the field. When racing resumed, Kudick shot to the outside line, making the pass stick on Wenzel. With one lap to go, Wenzel hit an infield tire in turn 2, scattering the field behind him. Kudick brought home the victory, followed by Todd Dart, Jeremy Jacobs, Sternard and Art Siefert.

Brussels’ Troy Muench grabbed the lead early in the IMCA stock car feature and never looked back, winning his 1st feature of the season at Thunderhill. Charlie Kroll finished second, Dave Bouche third on a last lap pass, Pat Davister fourth and Mike Pierrard fifth.

IMCA hobby stock points leader Frank Paul bested Brandon Peterson by a bumper to win his 3rd feature of the season. Peterson closed in on Paul with 2 laps to go, and they went side by side to the checkers. Luke Lemmens finished third, followed by Aaron Zellner and Jarred VanLaanen.

Sturgeon Bay’s Bernie Reinhardt made it look easy in the IMCA northern sport mod division. Reinhardt took the lead and hugged the bottom, pulling away from the field for the win. Eugene Gregorich came from deep in the field to finish second, followed by Eric Arneson, Cory Cochart and Jeff DuBois.

Another wild finish ensued in the NEW super stock division. Points leader Jeremy Wiitala grabbed the lead halfway through the contest, with Todd Everard hot on his heels. Everard went to the outside to make his move and made the pass with 2 laps remaining.

Coming to the white flag, Everard spun out in turn 3, handing the lead back over to Wiitala. As he came to the checkers, Wiitala’s right rear tire went flat, allowing Dennis Weidner to get alongside him to the checkers. Wiitala hung on to win by inches over Weidner, Les Sternard third, James Anderson fourth and Andy Poluch fifth.

Algoma’s Matt Borths ended Tyler DeBouche’s streak of 3 feature wins in a row, netting his 1st 4 cylinder feature win of the season.

Next week’s races are sponsored by Massart’s Auto Body & Floors by Josh. Racing gets underway at 6pm with IMCA modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, northern sport mods, NEW super stocks and 4 cylinders in action. For more information, visit www.racethunderhill.com or call (920) 743-7052.

ZEITLER DOMINATES IMCA MOD FEATURE AT THUNDERHILL

Old Faces Return to Victory Lane

by Chris Budzban

June 13, 2009; Sturgeon Bay, WI — Luxemburg’s Dave Zeitler led every lap of the IMCA modified feature en route to his first feature win of the season at Prestige Yacht Coatings Thunderhill Raceway. Zeitler wasn’t the only veteran to see victory lane as Jerry Wenzel, Eugene Gregorich and Eddie Anschutz also picked up feature wins on the night.

Zeitler grabbed the lead right out of the box and took to the high line right away. Billy Lemieux took the second spot on the low line, followed by Jeremy Jacobs. LeMieux kept Zeitler close for the first half of the race, but Zeitler pinned his car up on the top groove and powered away for the win. LeMieux hung on to second, followed by Jacobs, Kevin Sternard and Shawn Kilgore.

1995 IMCA stock car champion Jerry Wenzel took home the checkers in a hard fought battle with Troy Muench. Muench tried relentlessly to move Wenzel off of the bottom groove, but each time Wenzel shut the door. Muench moved to the top on the final lap, but was unable to make the pass and fell back to third place. Mike Pierrard slipped into the second spot at the line, followed by Muench, Pat Davister and Charlie Kroll.

Eugene Gregorich, a multi-time IMCA modified champion back in the 90s, was the victor in the IMCA northern sport mod division. Like the modified feature, this contest also went without a caution. Gregorich grabbed the point early and never looked back, picking up his second feature win of the season at Thunderhill. Eric Arneson finished second, followed by Brad Lautenbach, Jesse Kroll and Bernie Reinhardt.

2004 and 2005 IMCA hobby stock champion and current Thunderhill announcer Eddie Anschutz picked up his first career NEW super stock (formerly street stock) feature win. Anschutz held off heavy pressure from Jeremy Wiitala and Todd Everard to pick up the win in only his second night in the car. Everard finished second, followed by Dennis Weidner, Wiitala and James Anderson.

Second year IMCA hobby stock driver Luke Lemmens bested Jarred VanLaanen to pick up his first career feature win in the division. Lemmens had the lead when the red flag flew as Travis LuMaye ended up on his roof. LuMaye emerged unhurt, and Lemmens restarted the race with the lead. VanLaanen was unable to move Lemmens off the bottom and settled for second, followed by Brandon Peterson, CJ Weckler and James Bosman.

Suamico’s Tyler DeBouche dominated the 4 cylinder feature, picking up his 3rd feature win in a row.

Next week’s races are sponsored by Budweiser and 97.7 The Big Dawg. Budweiser products will be sold at the low price of $1 for the evening with a paid wristband. The Big Dawg will be broadcasting live at the track, with tons of giveaways throughout the program. For more information, visit www.racethunderhill.com or call (920) 743-7052.
